Moxie Trigger ... Petits Fours

I just love this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

I knew I was going to use the Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch. And I punched enough to make 2 cards.

The first I followed the inspiration pretty much .... replacing the spatula with a sentiment. The flowers are sponged with Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick.

On the second I was just using the leftovers ... I wanted to see the effect if I sponeged with Spun Sugar and painted on the Worn Lipstick.

Old Maids

We've been sharing over in the Hero Arts flickr group about stamps that we own, but have never been stamped ... virgin stamps ... and if they're over six months in your stash then they're old maids!

I bought this sentiment set, for the saying "happy thoughts" because I sign my letters and emails that way. But when I want to add it to the card, it never fits!

I have also been playing around with watercolours. Even though I have been using watercolour paper, I have not been getting the effect I want. Need to play a lot more.

The first is my favourite . . . the watercolour background, 2 stamps of the wild grass, 3 dragonflies and the sentiment. Lovely sprinkles from Annabelle stamps.

In the second I searched through my stamps to find something that followed the curve of the watercolouring. Originally I was going to put the sentiment at the top, but then decided it was better in the white space below. But it didn't fit! So I just stamped it on the card stock below and matched them up.

I will enter these into the Moxie Fab Wonder of Watercolour Challenge.

Dreamy Day

For Less is More challenge 117, Sketch #9

"A-ok" OLW Card

For the OLW136 challenge by Ardyth : Use elements on your card that begin with A. It could be a word, a colour, an image, a technique or even an embellishment (remember not too many of those!)

I went with ...

in colours of
Amber and
Aubergine (eggplant)

and was supposed to put asterisks too, but the little stamp went AWOL!

Went back to start on next card ... and found my asterisk stamp. yay.

So here's the update. (I photographed it flat as the bling shone more!)

Runway Inspiration

The Runway Inspired Challenge is Reem Acra Fall 2013.

I liked the white lights showing in the background. So I stamped a white panel and mounted it with foam. Embossed the sentiment in white on black and added white accents.

Muse 13

For the Muse Challenge #13

I saw 3 flowers with solid petals with white edges, dots around.

So I cut out 3 flowers and some leaves in a design on my white card using my new silhouette cameo (which I love .... cuts like butter!). I put pp behind adding some details with prismacolours and added Hero Arts dots on top.

One Layer Movie

OK - so here's the remake of my film card for Less is More. And it's one layer this time! I'm sticking with The Secret Life of Bees as my movie - I watched it twice!

So I took these supplies . . .

I inked up the hexagons with Hero Arts Butterbar, then stamp kissed on the floral background stamp (which would take off some ink) before stamping on the paper. Gave more texture to the bee hive.

I think the sentiment spacing worked better this time ... as I had the experience of the last card.

Less is More is having a challenge where the inspiration comes from a film. I was going through my Best Movies list, and when I saw The Secret Life of Bees, I knew I'd be making this card. It's been in my mind for a while. I actually cut the hexagons with my silhouette a while ago.

But I've just been back on their blog to get the link, and see that it is actually a one layer card. O no! Back to drawing board.

But I'll show you what I did anyway.

Some of the new trends really don't strike a note with me ..... until they have been around for some time. Doilies were definite one of them. I just didn't get them, but now I've been hooked! You'll be seeing more of them here.

Time to Ponder ...

It sometimes takes my mind a little bit of pondering before I get the full inspiration. So this has been a while in the formulating.

A second entry to the Lime & Black challenge at Less is More - if I'm allowed one?!

I stamped the close script and small damask print with black ink on white, and then die cut those plus a plain lime and plain black. Then I mixed and matched them back into the shape and had a couple floating off. Added a few drops of liquid pearls.

I am also entering it into the Die Cut Divas Birthday Challenge

Long card

The challenge at OLW is for a tall and thin card. (Mine is more long and thin)

Joined with the colour challenge at The Play Date Cafe

And you get ....

10 Minute Dash

Trying for the 10 minute Craft Dash

I set my phone to countdown 10 minutes ... so if it goes off before I finish, then I know I missed the boat! Well today it was 10 minutes on the dot - it rang just as I snipped off the last strip of pink paper. Whew .... talk about panic!

Lime & Black

For Less is More colour challenge.

I love this dragonfly square stamp and I don't use it enough. Thought it just the thing for this challenge. The 3 dots are Black Accents.

Flowers & Chevrons

CAS-ual Fridays Flowers and Chevron Challenge and Fusion Challenge - I'm creating fusion by doing the inspiration AND the sketch challenge.
I used my Fiskars zigzag punch, and Hero Arts stamp and die set with a mix of patterned paper. . .

A close-up of the flowers - I put glossy accents on the centres to give more dimension.

Black & White Card Scramble

Sue's card scramble over on the Hero Arts Flickr group was to use only White, Black, Silver or Grey.... or just a plain white card.

I added silver foil to the inside of the die petals and diamond stickles to the sentiment. I'll also enter this into the Annabelle Stamps Licorice and White Challenge.

Also went for the all white card ... All Hero Arts products ... embossing folder, flowers, lace ribbon, pearls, sentiment stamp.

Ugliest Card

Playing in the April Fool's Ugliest Card ....
I was working backwards on my flickr photostream ... and it just so happens the oldest ugliest is an Easter card.
Trying to do too much on one card.
